UAE condemns foiled terrorist plots in Morocco, expresses support

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has strongly condemned the terrorist plots foiled by Moroccan authorities.
On Monday, Moroccan security forces thwarted advanced terrorist plots targeting public order and the safety of people and property, arresting 10 extremists linked to the Daesh terrorist group’s branch in the African Sahel.
According to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance said the suspects were arrested during simultaneous operations across several cities based on precise intelligence. Those detained included a former terrorism convict and a minor.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the plots were intended to seriously undermine public order and threaten the safety of individuals and property, adding that they were carried out with logistical coordination and operational support from the Daesh affiliate in the Sahel region.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Morocco and its support for all measures taken to protect the country’s security and stability, safeguard its citizens and residents, and preserve its national achievements.
He also praised the efficiency and vigilance of Moroccan security services for successfully foiling the plots and apprehending those involved.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s firm rejection of all forms of terrorism and extremism, as well as any acts that threaten the security and stability of nations, stressing the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to counter such threats.
